Contemplating moving to the Gold Coast

I'm back from GC =) Glad to be home, I'm feeling so refreshed and reenergised now! GC is beautiful, stayed in a nice place right next to the beach and town centre. Great surf, not crowded at all at the moment cos its off-season. So relaxing, so nice, good company, good family bonding time.

Anyway maybe when I retire I can find me a nice place there and live the rest of my days being a beach bum =) So like to go again sometime, stay longer and take surfing lessons from a pro for 5 days, I have the pamphlet information, so nxt time nxt time.

I hate seeing lonely blogs

I was surfing the net before and it saddened me to see some disused blogs :( It made me want to immediately post something to keep my blog "alive"!

The net connection has been playing up last few days, funny how miraculously after calling my isp company the internet connection suddenly improves :S

Its been a hectic last couple of days, actually hectic is an understatement. Graduation and everything made me exhausted! But the best thing in the last wk undoubtedly is my new phone!

The possible death of my ipod

I received an Ipod for my birthday in 2003, I think that it died today =( I expected it too, I've always had problems with dodgy battery life and my initial suspicions were confirmed by the newspaper articles I read.

I was intending to listen to it on the train to church today, it couldn't even load up. I tried and tried to no avail. I charged it the night before, not good.

Aargh! What am I going to do? No music on the train? My 30 min train trips in the morning are going to seem forever, I'm too lazy to read. Need to find replacement mp3 player, cheap but good one, can't compromise on battery life and sound quality. Dodgy creative flash player doesn't cut it soundwise, it'll make me deaf.

Had a nice lifegroup social tonight at Cube on George Str. I'm regretting the cappucino which is keeping me awake now, but it was nice all the same. And coffee breath reaks! Yuck!

Ooh ps 3 coming out November!!! Online articles say its an expensive game player but an INexpensive blue ray player, we shall see cum Nov. Its looking pretty damn impressive at this stage, probably won't buy one though or maybe buy one to use as a blueray player in the future.

8 must be my lucky number

I've won my 8th Ebay bid! How exciting! LOL

So I guess 8 must be one of my lucky numbers, not surprising seeing as most Chinese believe 8 to be an auspicious number.

Tomorrow my Elective 2 assignments are due. I'm almost complete. I went to UNSW today to waste a little time before picking a friend from the airport. Went into the Commerce Computer Labs and found that I did quite a bit of work, surprisingly enough! Never seemed to get much done at uni when I was there! I find it strange to go back to uni for some reason, a friend was commenting on this too. I saw a few familiar faces, but no friendly ones, and the vibe seemed different to what I was used to 2-3 years ago. The world is so much bigger than the institutions we place ourselves in, like school and uni.

Sighting of another Home and Away Star

Yes its true! I've seen another soapie star! Yesterday when walking home through the side streets of Ultimo I saw a tall brown haired guy, I was thinking to myself, "this could be Josh West from Home & Away" and lo and behold it was true. I heard the familiar voice of the once goody two shoes surf life-saver turned bad guy mayor who was recently killed off in an ongoing murder mystery plot. It was a rather unusual place to see a soapie star though, the back streets of Ultimo isn't exactly glamourous!

Damn I lost another ebay bid, this is my sixth attempt! I've been closely monitoring the price of a Samsung clamshell I'm looking to buy to replace my current joystick impaired phone, I so should have won the first bid I attempted, its annoying to lose out by a last second $2.50 bid!!! Seriously I was leading the bid up until the last 6 secs, was so cheesed off after that.

Anyway tomorrow I have a day off to complete the final assignment I have to do for college. Better head off and exercise a bit too, I've been pigging out on junk again!

Things that I know are wrong

One thing I've noticed about me, I tend to look at the things around me and covet. Last time I checked coveting is a bad thing, its basically a sin. I do more than covet sometimes, its almost a "kiasu" (scared to lose) thing, like a mentality or a mindset to be the best, to be better than others.

I realise that its pointless to be so "kiasu one", its also contrary to my beliefs and it has in the past led me to some 'destructive' behaviour. What does it matter that I don't look a certain way, or that I don't work at at top-tier law firm, or that I'm not the brightest student or I'm not the most popular person? In answer to my rhetorical question, I say "no, it does not matter". I resolve to remind myself of this every single time a covetous thought comes into my head!

I've also been thinking about the things I've said in the past to other people and I've realised how utterly wrong I've been about certain things. I guess you only realise it when you learn more from life experiences etc. Anyway I'm probably not making sense, but I want to be motivated in the right way and not do things for the wrong reason =)

Sleepy but relieved

Yes, college exams are finished! I'm nearly there, just to have to start work and complete work for Elective 2 Wills, Probate etc. I'm gonna pull out my notes from last year's elective and regurgitate, thats the plan.

Anyway I foresee busy times ahead with the arrival of visitors, an impending graduation, work commitments and administrative tasks.

How nice was the weather today? Beautiful blue sky and sunshine, it was a fitting day to finish exams. Autumn weather ain't that bad after all, and the colours of the trees make autumn quite a spectacle too.
