Funny little ninja turtle emoticon
I'm so happy looking at this, how come its so happy? I wish I could be as happy as the funny little ninja turle emoticon.
anyway, back to reality, yes. Its the end of another long day. An what an informative day it was too.
I'm doing this subject called Financial Services Regulation which is basically about the regulation of financial services and markets. so yeah, I'm spending a whole semester learning about the Australian Securities and Investments Commission, better known as ASIC. ASIC has been greater powers to regulate the finance industry, i.e. make sure that there are no dodgy corporate dealings in order to prevent huge corporate collapses like Enron, HIH etc.
So our FSR class got to visit a large investment bank in town called Deutsche Bank which is a huge, global, multi-national investment bank in the city. The guy there gave us a huge talk about the bank, what it does etc, which was really informative. The way I see things, this would be like my one and only chance to see what its like to work in such a high class office unless I become a cleaner there or something, anyway... it was a really cushy office, huge LCD screen in the lobby with modern decor chairs and tables, nice...
Even got to see the debt and equity trading floors which was an eye opener. It was weird how all the people looked at us as if we were from Mars, I guess they weren't expecting a whole bunch of uni students rocking up and disturbing their peace late Friday afternoon.
went to 35mm tonight at Raleigh Park in Kensington. Was fun, was cool to be part of 'Ace' team!

Keith, if she starts getting on your nerves about spelling and grammar, then just go read her blog. It's a minefield of dodgy grammar and bad english! Tread carefull ;)
