World cup fever

Its everywhere!!! Happy but sad after last night's game, anyway what happens happens. It was sad to see Federer lose the French Open final against the mighty Rapahel Nadal, and slightly saddening to see the "blue warriors" squander their 1-0 lead only to lose right at the end. Make no mistake I do go for the Socceroos (I'm not just saying this so that ppl won't post spiteful comments on this blog and send me hate mail) but I did hope Japan would pull through, at least make it to the final 16 which is task which may be still accomplished but highly unlikely!!! They would have to secure wins over both Croatia and Brazil to do so!!

Anyway, I'm still in a very "travel" state of mind after watching last week's finale to the "amazing race". I've been trying to learn Italian, I bought a CD pack at UNSW bookstore using my credit voucher last week. The language learning is going on ok, its pretty fun actually. I'm just learning simple phrazes at the moment, nothing too complex!

I can say things like "con ghiatto" with ice, should come useful when I want "
aqua minerale con ghiatto" (mineral water with ice) lol. Yes, I can also count to ten =)

Went to see Jennifer Aniston's new movie, "The Break up" tonight after work. It was well worth it :) I was expecting a rom com and yes, it did have its comedic moments but it also had a few poignant moments which in my opinion was an accurate depiction of reality. The script wasn't over done and full kudos to both Jennifer and Vince Vaughan, who also produced and directed the movie.

Ok, I've gotta see "Over the Hedge", "Cars" and "Fast and Furious 3 Tokyo Drift" in the coming weeks.

All the best to those with exams =) Ace 'em good!

  • haha yeah learning Italian, doing something different. The grammar is so confusing at times!

I'm not giving up on asian languages yet hehe, still trying to learn by listening to jpop and mandopop. Listen to "Ketsumeishi - Tabibito" and Nanquanmama if you have the chance, they've collaborated with Jay in the song "xiao shi hou". Jay sings the chorus in a hokkien rap lol, I can actually understand it a bit.
