Environmental concerns

I read two articles online today which makes me think about the impact humans are having on the environment.

There's no doubt the earth is hotting up and if nothing is done about the carbon emissions from coal plants and other human industrial activity the earth and life on earth will be doomed in 50 years.

The other disturbing thing I read is that the Earth's fishing supplies are declining. The Japanese are blaming whales for the decline and using this to condone 'scientific research' (i.e. slaughter).

Scary stuff, I'm going to stop eating beef to ensure that the Amazon isn't cut down for more cattle grazing grounds.

long time no blog

Despite my best intentions to blog I have neglecting as always.

I find that I can't really blog about personal stuff and when I blog about other stuff it tends to be on the superficial stuff.

well as least I'm keeping my blog alive, nevermind that its not popular anymore and that I have absolutely s*all to write.

NSW Dams are more than 65% full, that's cause for celebration! Thank God for the rain =)

Prince Caspian

Another great movie out, go watch it if you get the chance.

I remember reading the Narnia books as a kid and not really understanding them. The movie is great and does differ from the book but I think this is one rare occassion where the book is better than the movie.

Movie was shot in New Zealand (the shot where the Pevensie kids return to Narnia was shot in Cathedral Cove) and Slovenia. Brilliant visuals and CGI is fantastic.

Princess Bride

Great book, great movie. Can't elaborate more.

Funny and quirky yet strangely it touches the heart, especially when the Spaniard master fencer, Inigo Montoya finally gets his revenge.

State of Origin next Wednesday, not that I care that much about it.

I'm hoping birthday boy Rafa Nadal wins the French Open for the fourth consecutive time this year. I don't think I could stomach Djokovic winning.
