Returning to a virus free computer

Aaah.. I love my computer =) I have a new found adoration for my virus free computer. I was over in Hurstville at a friend's place tonight to help her format her pc, it was one of the most frustrating computer experiences I've had, even worse than first year QMA Excel spreadsheets!!!

Anyway I've grown used to the cold and wet. It was actually really nice to see it pour down on Friday night. I was on the train home from bluesky by myself (so sad) but the view from the train windows was beautiful, especially when crossing the harbour bridge.

So hopefully the farmer's and the dam have got their fill of water now.

Got two days to mow the lawn and suspend Foxtel for a month.

What to do tomorrow???

Boo hoo

I've had a long day, woke up at the 'ungodly' hour of 9 o'clock so i could attend market research in Crows Nest, they fed me coffee flavoured stuff mixed with cow secretions (milk, yes I believe thats its called) and got paid $30. Yay, that covered the cost of the 'GRAPHIC NOVEL' (thats right, not a mere comic bk) which I bought on Wednesday night.

Funny thing, the girl who was working in the comic store used to work at Hoyts. I remember her, I'd rather work at King's comics than Hoyts anytime too so I congratulate her on her wise career move.

So yes, what was I talking about again, ah yes, what else happened to me today.. ok

Well, then after market research it started pouring down. Took the train to Central and went to DIMIA (Department of Immigration & Indigenous Affairs) which is on Lee Street really near Central. Took my place in line, I was number G 282 so I had to wait for the 50 odd people in front of me to be served. Getting my return visa was a painless process, even faster than getting a drivers' licence. So after forking out $120 for a 5 year visa, I was free and feeling much happier knowing that I could safely travel out of Australia and come back again in time for session 2.

So then I met up with my stalker friend and accompanied her on a chaotic journey through the city to do her shopping. It was crazy!! I thought my family was crazy but her's takes the cake, she kept on getting messaged and called about what to buy and bring home, she's going back to her home country next week so her family expects her to bring back a lot of stuff. Apparently things are much cheaper here.

For those who like Japanese food and like it in abundance go try YUTAKA on Bathurst Street. Mon-Friday there is a buffet lunch for $12 per person. It was pretty worth it! You get one hour to eat, and there's plenty there. Being a buffet quality was a bit below average, but there certainly is variety.

List of things they served there today which I thought was good.

1. Prawns

2. Asian cup jelly candies ( you know the ones that children choke on and die)

3. Chicken Karaage

4. Agedashi Dofu

5. Chicken Teriyaki

6. Soba (hot and cold) / Udon/ Miso soup

7. Tempura yasai (vegetables)

8. Sushi- which was pretty fresh, no tummy troubles for me which is a good indicator.

So yeah it was pretty good. It costs more on weekends and obviously dinner is more expensive too.

Sat $16 per person
and $30 per person for dinner: I think it includes Sashimi and oysters.

No Sashimi and oysters today at lunch though, Boo Hoo!

anyway it was so filling that I didnt' have dinner today. After being called fat and a pig it just as well I'm skipping meals.

I'm pork dammit!

For the second time today I've been called fat :( I'm so worried now, I think its time to get those "PILLS" my fren has been using LOLZ

anyway everything is bananas, B-A-NA-NANAS! So take that world!

The aftermath: Thursday night

Woke up late as usual, been getting solid 10-11 hour sleeps over the last week due to STUVAC hehehe. Anyway tried to put in contact lenses again, couldn't believe it but my left contact went in first go which was amazing but it was a another story for my left eye! Aargh contacts!!!

Took a drive to Warringah Mall today which was a first, nice place and nice location. Long drive there though. I got to see a 'Home and Away' star there, LOL that really made my day.. not!
Anyway I noticed that the people there were better looking than other places in Sydney. More blonde headed tanned surfie people probably since it was Brookvale and all (Northern Beaches area)

So took a drive back home, then left again to make it to a friend's party which was really cool =) It was good to meet different people tonight, I met a graphic designed guy who was so knowledgable about Industrial and Intellectual Property, man this guy knew it all, I felt so ashamed for my lack of knowledge and ability to give good advice after doing a whole 14 week course on IP :( the shame, but yeah, it made me open my eyes a bit. I guess graphic design people would be aware of IP since they naturally would want to protect their creative works. from dodgy pirates everywhere.

So many things to do tomorrow, got market research in the morning in crows nest, then have to get my visa so I can return back to Australia after my holiday lol

Session One, Game Over!

Another session has just gone by, and it is officially holiday time for me now!

Put in my assignment in the Level 10 box just then along with Jo, met her on the bus "co-incidentally".

So, not long before I go back.

Must resist

Still have to complete another question of Intellectual Property exam! What am I doing blogging?!

Drove past school today on the way to tutoring, don't know why but I've been thinking a lot about school over the last few days. Its been like 4.5 years since I left there which is a heaps long time. Back in year 12 I used to think life would be a breeze past HSC, how naive was I. Anyway I was sitting in the car waiting for the appointed tutoring time thinking about school and people from there when suddenly, uncannily Jerry called me up!

I have heaps to write on the subject of the high school experience. Lots of bitter memories =p

anyway I'm postponing everything til after Wed, how sweet will that day be!

the story of X

gah, i was about to write about how annoyed I was about an article I read about in the Sunday paper today but don't really feel like it anymore.

Need to go to uni to start blogging again, somehow its so easy to blog there

one down, one to go

only one to go, should be ok,

contact in my right eye can't fit properly, why?

How quickly things can change?

Getting sick and tired of dealing with people's selfishness. Its so frustrating. I think its even more frustrating when you don't get back what you expect, when you don't get reciprocation from your kindness.

Anyway, note to self, not to tolerate this kind of crap from people.

LOL, on a much happier note, succession is done! I can rejoice for a few hours until I get my next takehome exam, happy happy joy joy!

Been getting up at 11:30am on average for the last few days and been watching an average of 1.5 hours of cartoons a day, a tremedous feat if I do say so myself.

LOST is getting so boring, its dragging along and nothing exciting is happening. It was so frustrating slow that I had to read up online what happens. I've recently got myself hooked on desperate housewives though (the shame!). Seriously good series to watch, at least stuff happens.

positions vacant Orang utan handler

Perhaps its the insanity of being at law school and being demoralised year after year by being the stupidest amongst superintelligent superbeings, but I really want to become a Orang utan handler!

Such a cool job =) Zoology, thats would I should have done!

No more raisin buns :(

I seem to have recovered from last night's rampage of randomness, so as Cam quite correctly said, 'it will come to a pass' LOL

Whats more annoying? Doing assignments when you have no clue whats going on or trying to put on contact lenses?!

5 mins ago I succeeded in putting on my trial lenses on, the lens in my right eye is slightly irritated, hope I put it in correctly, I've been so paranoid with catching an eye infection, been using contact solution like crazy! Took me ages to put it in, and its so easy to take it out.

Hopefully I can get assignment done tonight, so I can make it to the growth group reunion dinner tomorrow night. I doubt that I can be that efficient though, aiya, next time den.

Tuesday is the night for random thoughts- I want more raisin buns!

Randomness, humour, laughter, things that really make life worth living for.

Is it wrong to desire to be encouraged? Is it wrong to expect encouraging answers rather than dispassionate answers that confirm you are losing?

If things are so against you, how can you overcome all these things? How do you see yourself how God sees you, how do you see yourself as God sees Christ in you? Where are the treasures in heaven? Are they limited to heaven or earth?

Isn't life meant to be simple? Why is it so complicated?

Why do you get annoyed?

Tuesday, June 14, 2005

Always waiting, random thoughts

Ever feel like hiding, sleeping, staying away from everything, hiding in the night?

Being someone that you are not? Doing something that you are good at ? Getting fame and fortune?

Being someone else who is not you, being someone more perfect, someone better than yourself, someone who doesn't have your problems, someone whose life is perfect?

Why can't you be that someone?

I woke up at 6:50am today, haven't done such a thing since year 12! It was strange, I didn't have problems waking up, I guess because I had purpose, how I am going to be able to wake up in time for class next semester?

Can't my problems go away?

Can't you hear what you want to hear? Must everything be negative? Maybe negative things are good for you?

So annoyed, so tired, so sick of crappy uni assessments

I want exams to go away! Now have to get back to succession :(

Just want to go on holiday hehe

Week 14, my thoughts

Bluesky was great again, I've got a warm fuzzy feeling after tonight. I think I know what I must do, got my direction for my life tonight, and I'll work on it from now on.

Next week I'm going to co-lead with Larry a CE (Christianity Explained) group, I'm really looking forward to it! Had our CE training tonight with Jo, which was cool ;)
Can't believe how random the people in our group are, certain members came up with a rather unflattering term and acronyms for it too- D.U.M.P is now an unofficial term for people who complete the C.E course but do not take the next step to PFABITS. How random is Julian! He and Ant Tow make a good combo though, very creative I must admit.

I'm listening to Greenday's new single,'Wake me up, when September ends'. Nice song, very moving. The film clip is like a mini movie, not very MTV at all. I think the message comes out really clear, war is meaningless, lives are destroyed, Bush is to be blamed for entering into a war and the blood of those who have died are on his hands. What a lying nitwit!! Grrr, the fact that Bush, Howard and Blair were all reelected after the 'weapons of destruction' debacle proves how stupid people in the 1st world are and how democracy has failed us all! Anyway, don't know why I'm getting so heated up by politics all of a sudden, but looking at things objectively I think the public should have a stronger moral conscience, its just plain wrong to enter into a war on false pretences and then 'forgive' the leaders that misled you in the first place.

Ok, now I'm listening to Dianna Krall, I'll be soothed to sleep by her sultry jazzy tunes.

So Semester One , 2005 is officially over. Stuvac remains, and two assessments remain too.

Good luck everyone!

the day I met ...JESSICA ALBA!!!!

I know blogging 3 times a day is verging on obsessive but I'd really to share my experience of meeting JESSICA ALBA in person! Its surreal, I'm still quite dazed from it, who would think that on Wednesday 8th June, 2005 I would meet embark on a crazy wild goosechase in Sydney which would cumulate in meeting arguable the hottest chick on the planet! hehe

So here's the story. Kelvin called me up in the afternoon [whilst I was writing my last post in the library] and tells me that his friend, Bobby, heard from his sister that the cast of the Fantastic Four movie would be appearing at Fox Studios in the afternoon today.

So, after I finished everything at uni, [had my last peer tutoring meeting one on one with wise Dom and had an hour session of maths tuition with Sabata at the roundhouse] met Kelvin and Jason at the Anzac Pd bus stop.

Kelvin FOUND a digital camera lying around at the busstop! Quite amazing, anyway we boarded the bus and went to Fox studios. The place was quiet, at that point I was seriously doubting that they were coming to the studios. So we went up to the Cinema and lo and behold we found out that they were indeed coming, but they were entering and exiting through the back door so no public appearance. But the PR people said that the cast would make a public appearance the W hotel in Wollooloomoloo [sorry for the wrong spelling].

At this point, we didn't know what to do. We didn't know how to transport ourselves from Fox to the W hotel.

But, fortunately the PR people gave us a free CABCHARGE to transport ourselves there!

So we went there, waited 1.45 hours standing up outside the hotel for them to come, and I can truthfully say, it was so worth it!

There weren't that many fans around so I was upfront. Got to see them up close, I got autographs from Mr Fantastic, the Human Torch guy and of course, Miss Alba herself! I took photos and I even spoke to him! It was so cool!

And here's the thing, Kelvin didnt' have a camera today and would have missed his opportunity to take photos; but he actually found a perfectly working digital camera at the busstop!

How crazy is that?! hehe

Anyway Miss Alba is really good looking, incredibly photogenic. She looks exactly like she does in the photos you see of her. A bit shy in person though, I think she's probably more shy and introverted than her on screen characters- i.e. Agent 452 a.k.a Max in Dark Angel!

The best job ever!

Pity I can't apply :(

trouble

i'm prolly going to get into trouble for falsel advertising so I retract every single word of my last blog ;)

Last succession class

Wednesdays are so cool! I get to class 20 mins every Wed morning, sleep in class for a few hours and wake up again just in time for lunch.

Today was our last succession class, it was about the administration of an estate which is the situation when a person dies and the executor or administrator pays off his/her debts and distributes the gifts under the deceased's will. [I'm including this to make my blog educational, so people won't think my life merely consists of watching O.C all day and whining about my life]

So after class I was walking from the library down to Colonade [1st year UNSW fob hangout] and I saw Christian and Hendy! I didn't see them at first, it was only when Christian yelled out to me that I turned my head back and saw them.

Yes, and then I had lunch, and then I came back up to Level 9 to check my email and waste time blogging about nothing.

So, when can I go play Warcraft again? Lol, nah I think I better concentrate on study now, not too long to go now til I can return to my usual routine of doing nothing.

Btw Gaston has offered to burn the second season of O.C for anyone who is interested=)
whats a growth group leader doing by watching [I quote] "one of the most immoral shows on T.V" anyway? [jk ]

Monday morning

The OC season2 finale was sooooo good!! It was probably one of the best season finales all time, watched it last night with the whole family. hehe

I'm pretty happy today cos I received some good news which has really encouraged me.

Got Intellectual and Industrial Property Class in 10 minutes.

When can I go play warcraft again?

Damn I should have used that spell!

Argh, so annoyed, I could have so prevented myself from dying so easily at the hands of 'Harmless' (who is not very harmless at all!) in the second game of Warcraft we played this arvo! There was this spell that would inflict damage on surrounding enemy units if deployed, unfortuately I wasn't fast enough to deploy them when I got attacked by this dodgy Harmless character hehe.

Cool, I'm improving, one day I will rule the world!

hehehe

Boring uni tomorrow, can't wait til uni is all over. Hopefully I can get good marks along the way.

ah library computers!

library computers are so cool, the internet is so fast compared to home.

Anyway, the combined debt of $70 I incurred has been a result a gradual result of late returns over my stint at uni. $20 of the total debt was incurred as a result of me borrowing two books on contracts law for my advanced contracts exam in Week 11 and 'overkept' them for the exam so as to prevent others from having access to them (I'm kidding!) Truthfully I borrowed them and used them in the exam, I did a cost benefit analysis and the result was that it was cheaper to have them overdue rather than buy the books. I can't believe I'm justifying my library fines in my blog.

anyway if anybody has any expertise in succession law please help me. I'm seriously demoralised from getting the mid session back! Getting back low marks for an assessment is bad enough, but when you find out that other people have been getting really good marks you seriously begin to think you are stupid! Found out today that my friend got a total mark of 79 for the succession midsem, which is fantastic =) But it didn't make me feel any better about myself unfortunately. I was expecting a credit for my effort, but unfortunately was disappointed with a pass hehe

library fine and demoralisation

Amazing how I've managed to rack up $70 in library fines, paid $21 of that debt just then so that my balance is just below $50. This has enabled me to once again borrow books from the library and to change my subjects online. I will have to paid the remaining $49 sometime before I graduate because you can't grad with an outstanding library fine.

Lol, let that be a warning to me from now on.

A short excerpt from an email I received from Textbookexchange.com.au

interesting, anyone know what it means?

I wonder what Quaker people read? To tell you the truth I honestly don't know whether MTS is read by Quakers, possibly though doubtful.
